Winnipeg, MB (SportsNetwork.com) - Michael Hutchinson posted his second career shutout as the Winnipeg Jets defeated the Columbus Blue Jackets 4-0 on Wednesday to enter the All-Star break with a five-game winning streak. Hutchinson made 29 saves and four Jets players backed up their rookie netminder as Blake Wheeler, Evander Kane, Jim Slater and Chris Thorburn all scored in the win. We were solid enough and our goaltender was really good, Jets head coach Paul Maurice said. Its good to go into the break feeling positive. Curtis McElhinney stopped 17-of-18 shots after coming on for an injured Sergei Bobrovsky during the second period. Bobrovsky, who was selected to play in Sundays All-Star game in Columbus, suffered the injury after stretching out to make a save during the second period and had to be helped off the ice. He allowed three goals on 12 shots before exiting. This is kind of how the season has been going, Blue Jackets head coach Todd Richards said. Were close to getting guys back, then lose two guys in the game. Columbus forward Jeremy Morin also left the game with an injury. Wheeler opened the scoring with a falling backhander in front just 1:08 into the game for an early Jets lead. Winnipeg went up 2-0 after Kane took Mark Scheifeles drop pass and snapped a shot from the top of the right circle that trickled through the pads of Bobrovsky at 6:06 of the first period. Jay Harrison charged in from the point on the left side and had his slap shot deflected by Slater in front 4:45 into the middle stanza. With 5:50 to go in the second, Thorburn snapped the rebound of Adam Lowrys wrist shot past McElhinney for a 4-0 game.
